All aspects of electrical work, no job too small.

Three kinds of work, across the Gold Coast and surrounding areas, the way Tom has run TA Electrical GC since 2021.

Domestic Electrical Work

Houses, units and townhouses across the Gold Coast. Most calls start the same way; something has stopped working, or something needs adding and you require it to be done by a licensed Electrician.

It could be a power point that has gone faulty or your lights are flickering or not working correctly, a safety switch that trips and you cannot work out why, additional fixtures and fittings that need connecting, or an older property where the switchboard has not been looked at in a long time. Working alongside other trades during renovation works and pool installations, whilst working to builder's plans are all familiar work to us.

Due to the growing demand of electric vehicles, the installation of EV chargers are becoming more popular. During storm season generator changeover switches are also in high demand. A backup generator can run your property when there is power outages in the area. We recommend installing before storm season rather than during.

If you are not certain whether it is a job for an electrician at all, ring and enquire. Tom will tell you what is required, including when it is not worth a call out, or try and assist over the phone first.

Merrimac and the suburbs around it were largely built from the late 1980s onward, so numerous homes here have switchboards that are thirty years old or more, unless upgrades have been carried out. If you are unsure about your property contact us and we will carry out a visual inspection.

Commercial Electrical Work

Shops, offices and small commercial sites, Body Corporate/Strata work, kindergartens and schools (Blue Card registered). The kind of work where the place needs to keep trading while it happens.

Being a one man business with an apprentice doesn't mean we can't take on the larger more complex jobs. We have undertaken several major upgrades with just the two of us. From time to time if we require extra hands, this is not a problem for TA Electrical GC as we have connections in the trade and good relationships with other Electricians to get works complete in a shorter timescale if needed. Tom will still always be the one you liaise with and will always be the one managing these projects to ensure smooth operation, and be present on the job too to make sure that the work is still carried out to his standards. We pride ourselves in our work ethic and consider everyone involved with commercial properties, including communication with tenants or other personnel involved.

Maintenance and Repairs

Faults, repairs, test and tag, and the ongoing maintenance that keeps a home or a business safe and working.

This is the bread and butter, and it is where "no job too small" actually matters. Plenty of trades will not turn up for one faulty circuit or a single power point. However, that work is always welcome here.

You get a certificate. Under Queensland's Electrical Safety Regulation, where electrical work has been tested, the contractor must give you a Certificate of Testing and Compliance. It is your written record that the work was checked, and it is worth filing. More on Queensland's rules.
